I purchased this evaporative cooler to replace another expensive brand of cooler that suddenly quit after four years. The design of this cooler with side and rear pads translates into more cooling capacity, and this cooler can keep my 9' x 12' greenhouse cooler on the lowest setting when the prior cooler ran continuously on high. I also like the swinging louvers which helps to distribute the air. I plugged the cooler into the Surestat DT20 thermostat I purchased with it which turns it on and off throughout the day, never allowing the temperature to exceed my setpoint. I am so happy that I found this cooler!

Some of the side panels were damaged in shipping, I had to basically re-assemble the swinging register because it all came apart in transit, after a few hours of use I started hearing sparks and smelling burning wires, the swing power supply wires were shorting out due to water (go figure) This thing is a safety hazard without having a GFCI plug.

ACF Greenhouses: I'm sorry your cooler was damaged during shipping. Sounds like the wiring may have been damaged as well or came loose during installation causing it to spark. Let us know if you would like for us to send you a replacement cooler. We will be happy to replace it free of charge!
